Weekend and throughout the week...

This pic above is the night they got groomed. My handsome devils :)
********
So I've played hookie or all week. Lol. Well Monday I had planned to be off due to dr's appts but Tuesday to today I've called in sick with a migraine. I did feel I'll Tuesday and Wednesday but now noisy being a lazy mofo with my family. :)

The boys were supposed to get groomed Monday but that was rescheduled to Tuesday, so they've been dapper little boys since Tuesday.

Bunch of good shows coming back soon... Girls, Mad Men, Homeland (in Feb I believe), Real World just started again, Greys should be coming back soon, The Following... Loved that last year!!

Have to do grocery shopping and a Costco run this wknd and take it easy. Weather is supposed to be mad mild this weekend, which means a shitload of snow is going to melt. Yay for potential flooding and flash freezing.

Well hello there kids, it’s HUMP day!

And this week, for me (us), that means 4 more sleeps until my mom and step-dad get back from their 4-week trip to England aka we get to go home (!!!!!) and everything will resume to normalcy again:
  • To sit on our couches.. (such simple things, right?
  • To have things like our Henckel (sp?) knife-block (my mom has shitty knives at her place, although I know I could have brought them with us, that probably would have resulted in some missing or having a mishap myself transporting them, being the ever so graceful gal that I am lol)
  • Our OWN bed and pillows (Jeff hates my mom’s pillows, they’re like hospital pillows)
  • The dogs are going to sleep for 2 months from winding down from the excitement and literally just not settling down much because of the other two dogs and the constant shadows that I have following me from room to room (I’m never alone, which is comforting that I’m so loved but Jesus Christ, I can’t even go to the bathroom without FOUR of them in there with me seeing what’s going on LOL)..
  • It’ll be nice to have our closet back (instead of having schlepped over a ton of clothes for 4 weeks, work clothes mainly was the concern)
  • Our shower (where the hot water tank NEVER runs out)…
  • No crazy, hyper-sensitive aunt that will freak out when the internet goes down or the router freezes (she literally goes into major panic mode when the internet goes down - had an incident about this very same matter 2 weeks in that resulted in her freaking out, her being rude and then when I tell her to calm down and stop over-reacting, she cries..... Ugh it's just a mess... Not to mention her inability to help out my mother with the dogs while she's away but she has the nerve to ask my mom if she thinks my step-dad would look after her dogs next May while her and my mom go away to Barbados for two weeks.  I'm sorry but lady, you can't even, sorry scratch that, can't be bothered to look after the dogs while my mom's away.. It's such a long story and I'm not going beyond what I just wrote because it just infuriates me to no end.  She's so selfish and unappreciative of everything in life.
  • Moving along, it'll be nice to have our toaster oven back, where I can cook multiple things at once without just the oven that I've been working with at mom's.
  • I won't have to make dog food every few days.. Not a big deal but I've got to plan it out so there's enough food and I'm not, say, out of food in the morning before work.
  • I'll get to walk back and forth to the train every morning again.. While it's been nice to drive from my mom's, the morning walk kind of wakes me up and gets me going at a godforsaken hour.
Sure, it’s nice to be at my mom’s, at the house, more space and all that good stuff, but it’s not “home” anymore.  Home is where Jeff and I are.
Jeff took the day off tomorrow to hang with his buddy Chris that he's recently reconnected with.  Friday he's taking the two nieces to this DigiTour concert thing for YouTube people (Yeah I'm old, this doesn't interest me in the least), so I'll probably meet him after work for some grub, leave him, bus it back home to feed the dogs and what not and then meet him at the highway on his way back so he has some company there and back after the concert.  Saturday will be cleaning/packing day and schlepping shit home day.  And well, Sunday, we pick up my parents around 5'ish and then we're free!!
Anywho, that's enough for now.  I've been writing this off and on for a few hours and it's time to put an end to the babble.

Humpity Humpity Hump Wednesday

Something feels amiss lately...And I can't quite put my finger on it.  I feel like things are too quiet, not metaphorically but physically.  I feel like things have been better with J but I feel like he's too quiet, reflecting on things internally and not including me in on it.  Maybe it's me just being stupid and my own insecurities and worrying about nothing, but maybe it's not. Who knows, I know I certainly don't.  It could also be the polar opposite, that things are calm and quiet right now and I'm over-analyzing it.

Things are a chaotic mess at work with the ongoing renovations.  I won't be at work Monday because of it and Tuesday I'm going to come in for a short meeting, that's it, then Wednesday everything should be done in our area and we can begin the fun task of unpacking.  Yayyyy!  So far I have 11 bins of shit packed and maybe another 3 to go, if I'm lucky.  I'm secretly building a fort, that's what I'm really doing.

The Yoga Conference is in just over a week and can you say STOKED?!!?  Thursday night I'll head home from work but Friday morning, instead of hauling my ass into work, I'll be hauling myself along with a heavy bag of gear ready for 10 hours of workshops with Seane and 2 hours for a workshop with Natasha Rizopoulos, who's supposed to be pretty amazing, both on Friday and Saturday.  I already can't wait for next year's show and some day, I'll end up at a Wanderlust festival - that's on my Bucket List for sure!!  Meanwhile, while I'm doing that, Jeff is supposed to go that Saturday morning for a gun competition up in Parry Sound and then he's coming back home afterwards.  We'll probably get home around the same time as eachother, I'll just bus it back from Toronto to home, no worries at all.

This Friday night, Jeff's meeting me downtown and we're going to go out for a quick dinner and then head to the Raptors game.  I've never been so it should be fun.  Then Saturday at some point I'm picking up some cupcakes I ordered for Jeff and I.  I'll make us a special dinner on Sunday as it's our 11th anniversary to back when we began dating.  Crazy how over a decade has flown by just like that.  It's also St. Patrick's Day so who knows what trouble we'll get into, if any.

Anyways, I must be off.  Tah-tah for now!!

Monday, January 17, 2011

According to the news, today is supposed to be the most depressing day of the entire year.....I wonder why today.  Why today and not December 21st, on the shortest day of sunlight of the year?  That would be my pick, that's just me though.

So I think I have to make a better promise (to myself) to write a bit more, even if it's silly/stupid/wacky...at least I'm airing out the shit that goes on in my head etc.  Not worry about hurting anyone else's feelings, this is MY blog.

Jeff and I went snowshoeing yesterday for a couple of hours.. holy what a good work out.  At few times and I thought that I was going to die going up a few steep inclines.  LOL no that's just the smoker's lungs.  Totally something I have to give up eventually.

This isn't something that I'm entirely verbal about but here goes.  Eventually, if I ever decide to have a baby, smoking will definitely have to cease.  I'm not sure where I am on this though.  As I've gotten old, I think I would like to have one perhaps, but at the same time, I don't want a kid to change us, I want us to continue to be free spirits, fun loving and adventurous.  Everything we do - camping, travelling, sports, whatever, I want to include a child in that equation.  Part of me wonders if that'll ever happen.... It's not something that Jeff talks about and getting him to open up about it just doesn't happen.  I'm not sure what to think.  Part of me thinks he's scared, part of me knows that he knows kids change things...I just don't know if that's something he wants...When it is brought up, jokes are made and I'm not sure what to think.  I guess I want a baby because I'm an only child, I've always adored caring for people, I want to give my mom a little one to dote on and appreciate while she's here with us.. Of course, not all the "right" reasons to have a baby but reasons nonetheless....More on that some other time.

Tonight, is swimming.  We're doing our open water certification this year (finally!!) and then doing our test dives down in Barbados while were down there in May for two weeks.  Cannot wait.

Boys are doing spectacularly.  Baxter is now 3, as of Saturday, January 15th, he turned 3.  Out of the terrible two's (jokes) and on to three's.  Which means, Charlie is almost 4...He actually turns 4 just 2 days before we return from Barbados :(  We'll celebrate when we get back.

Anyways, that's all for now.  To think of more things to write about.

Night :)

P.S.  Last picture is of Tarra and Bella, at Hohenwald Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, Tennessee.  :)w

Sunday, July 11, 2010

Well, hello again. It's been awhile since I wrote.

Left my old job approximately 3-4 wks ago, then had a week off in between and then started at my new place last Monday.  It's so much different than what I've been used to for the last almost 5 years. It's a refreshing change and I feel like I'm actually using my brain again.  I could certainly get used to this. :)

Yesterday we did our boat tour of the harbour with the TPS marine unit and holy shit that was so much fun. A 600 hp oversized zodiak.  It was devine.  :)  We're going to bid on that again if another package comes up at the St. John's Ambulance Silent Auction in September.

Not much longer for Europe.  I believe we're at 32 days left or exactly 1 month tomorrow until we head out.  That is coming much faster than I thought it would.  We still need to purchase some more Euro's and Pounds...not too many pounds though.

Ran some errands with Jeff this afternoon and got our grocery shopping out of the way.  Went to Costco and bought a shit ton of meat for the next few weeks.  It's certainly different coming home 80% of the week to Jeff having made dinner.  I get in the door now at 6:30 which isn't the greatest but I'm not complaining.  It works for now.  I'll definitely want to play with my work hours in the near future...Maybe change them in the winter.  I am also on probation at work until October 5th so I have to do it most certainly after that.

Other than that, been battling a cold that just won't go away and it's rather annoying.  I gave it to Jeff after about 5 days, he didn't make out unscathed.

Anyways, that's all for now :) Ta-ta!
