Tuesday's musings.....

My weekend was pretty chill, quiet because Jeff wasn't around, he was up north doing his monthly thang with his brother and father.

I spent Friday night doing grocery shopping and not much else other than watching the boob tube.  Saturday morning I biked over to my mom's house to visit Toby, the Pomeranian that she's looking after (the one that I've cared for previously, visiting him at his house though) and then I also previously wrote that my mom was also looking after a crazy cute dachshund.  Cuteness overload at her house. I stayed for over an hour, then biked back home so that I could get dressed/ready to go out to look at a townhouse with our friend Dina.  We looked around at said house, drove around a bit and then settled on a late lunch at a place with a view like this:

Gorgeous view and the afternoon's weather improved greatly, the morning was pretty overcast and cool.  It almost felt like fall.

Left lunch, went home and then cleaned a bit before a friend and her boyfriend came over for a visit.  They stayed a couple of hours and then I went to sleep.

Sunday morning was uneventful.  Woke up, ate breakfast and showered so that I could meet up with the Bride who's wedding I'm part of in August for her dress fitting.  Her dress had finally come in and it was time for the first fitting and deciding what alterations needed to be made.  Gorgeous dress, beautiful bride, I just can't wait for the wedding.  Her bridal shower is actually coming up this Sunday at a fellow wedding party's mom's house in their backyard.  I'm hoping the weather cooperates and we can all be in the garden for the afternoon.  The shower also falls on my petsitting weekend but I've managed to cover from about 12 to 5 so that I'm free and clear to head on over to the shower.  I've got a ton of stuff to prepare:  lemonade, raspberry iced tea (all from scratch), fruit shish bobs, I've got to pick up some wild flowers.  I've already got my pseudo gift and card for her.  It's going to be a busy weekend.

Here are a few current pictures of the dogs:

Going down in the elevator to meet their gf                   My sunbeam, Charlie.  He loves the sun!
Lily for a walk

Oh and lookie here what I found:
This was the day that I picked my dress.  My mom actually wanted me to try on the dress and I was so glad that I did.  So pretty :)
Here are a few pictures from my mom's camera that she took of the goats and of my four-legged kids mucking around at my mom's house.  Enjoy :)

Tuesday Musings...

You know what really chaps my ass and SO many women do it.  People that are obviously slim that say they're fat.  Um you're smaller than me, what the fuck am I then?  I must be obese, if that's the case.  And that my friends is how you get a complex.  People like this individual I've described above that have "made" women insecure.  This same person likes drama and also like to make mountains out of mole hills for no reason in particular.  I seriously, seriously think if we showed a little more compassion, love and understanding of people, we could all collectively live in a world that was much more joyous, non-harming and filled with less hate and hidden agendas.  I just can't stand to be around people that are just so negative or like to wallow in misery, you know?  Life is too short.  And if you haven't got anything nice to say, well, keep your mouth shut.  No one needs to hear it.

Moving along... The weekend went by entirely too quickly.  On Saturday, we took my mom out to Whitby-area so she could pick up some raw dog food that she was going to be trying to switch her two dogs over to.  Well, wouldn't you know it, we spent about 2 hours there.. Why you ask?  Because there were dogs there and I was doting alllllllllllll over them.  The woman breeds Leonbergers and she has four of her own.  I had never met the breed until maybe a year ago when I looked after a Leo named Olive, and man was she a stunner.  Here she is:

Here are the Leo's from Saturday:

Beautiful Kramer :)
The ladies

I think this was the 9 month old female.  There was Kramer and his daughter and then another female and her daughter.

185 lbs of pure love.  This is Kramer.

Sunday we didn't get up to much other than heading over to my mom's for a bit and some running around and being domesticate.

I think it's the weather but I'm really tired this week.  Could be the weather/temperatures.  I think today's it's around -20, feels like -30 with the wind chill.  Brr!!  I'm so over winter, but then again, I've never been a fan of it given that I'm always cold.

Anyways, decided to take a few pictures of some nooks of our place that are my fave.

Here's one of our book cases that houses a ton of diving magazines, National Geographics, books, elephant figures, pictures, and more pictures.

This cabinet you see in the pic above?  It houses about 40 Swarovski crystals that I began collecting at a young age, I believe my first was purchased on a cruise ship or in port at an island we visited while on said cruise.
Our new grey sectional.. And Jeff sleeping. :)

This is prob the messiest nook in our home.  It's where I put a heaping pile of bills before filing them away every 3-4 months.

One of my little areas or "spots" with a bunch of books, elephant studies, pictures, etc.

Jeff and my man, Charlie snuggling.

He's always watching ;)

Charlie and I :)

That's all for now.  Jeff's birthday is on Friday and he turns 37, the old fucker.  LOL  His family is coming down on Thursday night to celebrate with us.  Friday night we're going out with my family and the rest of the weekend I'm petsitting/dog walking but it's another quiet weekend like at the beginning of January......

Have a good one... :)

My weekend up north (tons of pics!)

To recap the weekend, I booked Friday off from work weeks ago when Jeff asked me if I wanted to come up to his parents house the weekend of the shooting competition but his brother this time was going to bring his sorta-kinda-not really girlfriend or lady friend.  We were going to leave on Thursday night, having sorta packed on Wednesday night and then the last of it on Thursday after we got home from work.  But the night flew by and by the time we were in the car and ready to go, the weather took a turn and it was nasty out.  So both Jeff and I said at the same time practically, not even 10 minutes after leaving, that we should turn around and head out early in the morning.  So we did just that.  Friday morning came along, got up, had breakfast and left around 10 ish or so.  Loaded up the car with a few things, the dogs, grabbed coffee and off we were.

The night before - they were ready to go but the weather wasn't co-operating.

My co-pilot, Charlie.

The kids, in the backseat just waiting to get up north to the fresh air.

Below are pictures taken just before arriving at the house.  Love all the pretty fall colours, although up here, many of the leaves have already fallen and many trees are pretty barren.

And then it began lightly snowing on Friday night... The boys were excited about this.  I was not.  Lol I hate the cold, FYI
We discovered somewhere along the way that Jeff's brother's kinda-sorta-not really gf wasn't coming along, so it was just Jeff, his brother and I (and the dogs for the weekend, which was fine but man, Jeff's brother left everything til the last minute when everything had been planned weeks ago, but I digress. Whatever.).  So during the days, I would be by myself, which was fine.  The dogs would occupy my time, I could take them outside off-leash, or on walks, I could cook dinner or rather check on the slow-cook ribs and chicken in the oven that was in for 8 hours (!!).  But the way the weather turned out and no RSVP list for the gun club meant that no one showed up, so the boys came home relatively early.  Had a really yummy dinner and enjoyed the evening with the guys.  Sunday's match was cancelled but Jeff and his brother wanted to go to the club in case someone showed up that hadn't received the email so they did just that and left around 8 am.  I cleaned up the rest of the day, watched tv and packed up awaiting their arrival back in the afternoon to head back home.  And from here, I'll let the pictures do the talking.
Saturday morning, early.
Hmmm. How'd we get up on the table, guys?  I swear these dogs are part cat.

Curled up in a ball, Baxter :)

Where's Charlie!?! LOL Poor fella is just tanked

Can't you just tell how exhausted this fella is just looking at his sweet face?  So sweet :)

Sunday
Failing to get a picture of the both of us so the face is a face is disdain and disappointment lol
Uh oh, there goes a teddy. LOL

The End.  We went home and all's well.  It's been a great week thus far.  I can't believe that in 12 days I'm going to be 30 years old *AHHHHHHH*
