TGIF!

How about some randomness right off the bat, shall we?I need someone to re-design my blog.  Looks so drab and it's not pretty or unique like so many others I see out there.

I also need to start thinking about topics to ramble on about because I feel like I'm boring, so I apologize for that.

Huzzah!!! It's Friday bitches. Christ it's been a long week. I did a weights class today at lunch, which was great, but man my legs wanted to give out. I was D Y I N G!! But in a good way of course, there are no negatives or drawbacks to health and fitness.

We're having my mom and step dad over  for dinner tomorrow evening but we haven't really got any plans this weekend. Last weekend, however, was enjoyable. For a couple of years now, Jeff and I have looked very casually for a new couch or sectional. Lo and behold, we bought a new sectional! And grey! I'm absolutely in love with it. We also got an arc lamp that hangs over it. Super nice and needed; the couches we had before we're bought in 1990 by Jeff's parents (!!). So I took some pics to remember the old and bring in the new.
Jeff slept on the couch one last time last Friday night.
On the curb.. Bye bye couches, you've been good to us.
Beautiful! Comfortable! Huge! And we all love it, dogs included, although they were a bit confused at first lol they had to be coaxed on to the couches and told it was okay. They now have certain spots that are "theirs" :)
Charlie's has managed to find a vantage point to get some rays. :)

And here is Baxter on his throne, he definitely likes the chaise part.

And lastly, Baxter turned 6 (!!!) on Wednesday :)

TGIF!!

What's going on with me?  Random-ness......

- I have to take two massive boxes of books to donate to Goodwill this weekend.  We've pared down our two book cases and sorted through books we just won't read again or former school books that are out of date (law books and such).

- I've been thinking about it all week yet I've done nothing about it as yet, buuuuuuut, I want to set up our Christmas tree tonight.  I know it's early but we also won't be at home from December 4th to the 19th because we'll be house sitting/dog sitting at my mom's while she's in sunny Barbados.  Yes, again

- I just got back from an ass-kicking at the gym and it feels soooooooooo good.

- We might be heading up north tomorrow for the night to check on Jeff's parents.

- It's supposed to snow tomorrow.  And be freezing.  So much in denial that winter is here for the next half year. *rolls eyes*

- I'm just becoming aware of a store named Piper Lime, a Gap franchise if you will, but what cute, fashionable clothes they have.

- I  just finished reading a book called, "Unsaid" by Neil Abramson and it had me smiling at times and other times, I would tear up because I knew exactly what the author was describing and could relate.  What a good book to read if you love animals.

- I was off on Wednesday to go to a Doctor's appointment that went really well and afterwards, I walked over to my mom's place (where the dogs were - once a week my neighbour will take her two Bichon's over to my mom's, along with ours, and they have a play date with her two Bichons, so it's a Bichon party :)  It's actually quite adorable seeing a sea of white fluffballs at your feet.  They're all just so happy with eachother and they get along so well together, it's wonderful.  And plus, my mom LOVES it.  She would be happiest if she had an entire house full of Bichon babies (so would I, to be honest!).  Here are some pictures from that day.... Enjoy. :)

Oh and P.S. Things are going really well with Jeff and I'm actually smiling again.  He notices it, I notice it, my mom notices.... Big, GOOD changes :)

xo

I just LOVE this one of Baxter at the forefront, he's got the softest, most gentle eyes on the planet

Friday, May 3, 2013

One thing that's been on my mind a lot lately is that I cannot get over the sheer amount of people online and on Instagram that are posting incorrect information, or if yoga-related, posting instructional posts about asanas and they're being done INCORRECTLY.  Like, if you're not a certified yoga teacher or you're just beginning, leave the instructions to the professionals with experience.  People can REALLY fucking hurt themselves and posting pictures of you doing the poses where potentially others can see, could be detrimental. Having said that, you should also know when to pause and take it easy and know your own body, but my goodness, in the day in age where social media is rampant, everyone has a tip or is professional.

Also, another thing on my mind lately and maybe I'm getting old, I don't know.  But what's up with all the ridiculously drunk-bloggers that constantly post about their drunken escapades day in and day out.  Sure, I did my fair share of binge drinking, albeit most before I turned legal age, but to chronicle your life depicting it as an alcohol is by no means attractive or cute.  I try not to be judgmental but those are my observations.  I try not to compare myself to others but I just don't get some people.. And fair enough, that's fine, I'm not always going to "get" everyone or be on the same page as everyone else, but... I dunno, just some observations as of lately.

And so it's Friday.  Woo!  This weekend should be beautiful out so I'm thinking of heading to the farmer's market tomorrow morning to see what some of the locals have for sale.  I also have to give my filthy pups a bath, but not before I take them to the dog park. I also have to go through my closet and donate some stuff to Goodwill.  Also have to think about packing or at the very least, make a list of things I'm going to take to Barbados with me, which is TWO WEEKS AWAY!!!! *insert happy dance*  I've already started a small pile but I don't want the pile to grow and grow and all of a sudden it's taken over my side of the bed.  I need to get some soil this weekend to so I can try my hand at growing some garlic.

New shoes, new dress... feeling fabulous :)  I look like such a goof.  God!! lol

Have a splendid weekend! xox

My weekend recap

My god it's almost mid-week yet again.  Where does the time go!?  It's funny in that when you're young, all you want to do is grow up... When you're there, you want to pause time and slow down.  It's hard to believe that I'll be 30 frickin years old later this year.  I think I perhaps I figured that I'd be in my 20's forever.  Not the case, Lindsay, not the case at all. LOL

Last Thursday, it was the hubby's 36th birthday, to which we went out to a quaint little Italian place and he had his osso buco that he's had there before and loved.  After that, we had a friend over and had many, many laughs that evening.  It was really fun.

Friday, Jeff waited around all bloody day for a friend to say jump.  That didn't come til about 3:30 when he finally decided it was a fine time to move.  Well, I shouldn't save move because dude hadn't even begun his packing for frig sakes.  Not to mention, he was dusting his electronics all the while Jeff was standing around just twiddling his thumbs.  His buddy had taken a half day on Thursday to pack.. well pack my ass because there was no packing, it was all done on Friday afternoon.  Jeff started out the move, I made one pet visit and then joined up with them to get the ball rolling so that we could eat dinner before midnight.  We got him moved and all that shit and we managed to be sitting down to eat, oh I'd say at 10:45!!!

The rest of the weekend was petsitting/dog walking, which was good fun and good times, as per usal.  Below are some of the animals I looked after. :)

I finished up my last visit around 4 pm on Sunday and came home and did our laundry and made dinner later on that evening.  Oh, I made my first homemade Butternut Squash soup on Sunday evening as I was making regular dinner and if I do say so myself, it was quite yummy!! :)  I'm going to be making some tomorrow evening so that Jeff can take some up north when he heads up on Thursday night to do the dog sled race with his dad and brother.  I was invited but you can't pet the dogs as they are working dogs and I'd only get a glimpse of them and frankly, I'm not cut out to stand outside for 8 bloody hours.  No thank you.  So I'm staying home and doing a costco run, yoga classes and just hanging out with the boys.  Will miss Jeff but he needs that brother/dad time/family time.

Peace out, I'm going to the gym now.  :)

Life lately...

So it's Christmas Eve........................

I've eaten far too much chocolate, shortbread and chips in the last week, it's digusting.  I don't want anymore.  Any my Doritos, they're gone too.  I can't handle waking up and feeling like shit afterwards.  It's disgusting.

I'm at work today while the rest of the intelligent world is at home, off or their work has closed or the day has been given to them.  I must admit I felt little to be joyous about this morning as I schlepped my fat ass into work, one of maybe a handle of people that are here today.  But I disgress, I'm here, I'm getting some shit done, nothing that wouldn't normally be manageable during the average busy, noisy day.   The train was rather empty, as expected this morning as well.

The festivities ths week are as follows:  Take off from work somewhat earlier today, head home.  Then we'll have the evening to ourselves.  Tomorrow morning we're off to my mom's place for breakfast and to open gifts (the dogs will be staying with her til I get home on Wednesday).  Then, we drive up north to Jeff's parents place.  Have dinner, stay the night.  I'll be coming home on Wednesdayat some point, not sure if Jeff will be coming with or staying, but regardless, I have to work on Thursday so that's why I'm coming back so early.  I'll go and get the pups from my mom's house so it's too terribly lonely at home without Jeff there.. Then I suspect at some point Friday or Saturday I'll head up north and stay the weekend before heading back home on Sunday so that I can be in for December 31st at work. Exciting stuff, let me tell you!!

And yeah.  Don't get too all excited on me here.  I think I'll head home later and have some drinks, because there's nothing like some good cocktails.

MERRY CHRISTMAS :)

No idea why I'm posting this, but I feel like I look like a giant here.

Our Tree.  So pretty :)

Jeff and I have been sick.  All week.  We've been around entirely too many sick folks with varying degrees of illness and the type.  All last week I felt like garbage, very much not myself.  I really knew it on Saturday when I was at my aerial class.  I was sweating buckets and not as strong as I usually feel.  I left feeling amazing but I knew the whole not feeling well feeling was in part because I was a dumb ass and forgot to eat before I went there, I had just consumed 2 cups of coffee that morning, nothing else.  D'oh!

Friday night went to the Sound Academy to see KO.  Woo! Got there just after 10 or so and he came on around 11.  I don't even remember what time we got home, we did go on a downtown whore tour. Now let me explain - we have hookers in downtown Toronto, some in scuzzy areas, others not so much.  Anyways, we haven't done that in awhile so we did and saw a few sketch cases, and then the usual ones that were dressed in thigh high boots with fur coats.  Hot, I tell you. LMAO. Not.

So Saturday I did my aerials class and then after that, I think we had a fairly quiet night.  I don't even remember what we did on Sunday.  Was sick up until yesterday....Blah.

So having said that, I missed out on some posts....and they are:

Day 16 — A favorite food
For me, hmmm, I love greek food and italian.  But I'm too picky to have a favorite dish.  Scratch that.  If I go to a familiar restaurant, dollars to donuts, I'll get a club sandwich, nachos, fish and chips or chicken fingers. LMAO. Such a kid sometimes.

Day 17 — A photo of my family
Ummmm, not at the moment.  Would rather not post a pic of my family.

Day 18 — A baby photo
None scanned. Sorry.

Day 19 — A fun memory
I live life with zero regrets.  You learn from your experiences, not your mistakes and I think everything in my life, despite maybe at the time being not so great, it has shaped me to who I am today.  The one memory I wish I had was more of me and my dad before he died.....

Day 20 — A hobby of mine
Traveling, reading, scrapbooking, cleaning/organizing things (I know, totally weird eh)

Day 21 — A favorite recipe
I would have to say this is Jeff's mom's recipe she gave me.  Spaghetti squash and butter nut squash.  Cut in half.  Bake until soft.  Scoop out the squash and put in side bowl.  Meanwhile, cook ground beef or something similar, add onions and garlic, and then once cooked, add tomato paste.  Cook some rice and put that all together, stuffing the squash with that and some squash you've already scooped out.  It's delish!! :)  Thanks Mono!

Day 15 — My celebrity crush

Hmmmmm. Eminem, David Beckham, Brad Pitt. Now there's a weird assortment of men, LOL.

Quick, quick post before I leave work.  Going home and making dinner, having a shower and then coming back to Toronto to see KO at the Sound Academy.  Tomorrow is aerial silks class and then the outdoor show.  I'll have to take the kidlets to the dog park at some point, likely Sunday.

Nothing really to say today so I won't babble. :)  Have a nice weekend
