It's 4 days late but whatev! My last weekend's adventures ...

Well, I figure it was about time that I wrote about the Easter Long Weekend.  Man, though, these pictures have been a bitch trying to move and reorganize.  I was off on Friday for the long weekend, but it wasn't a relaxing weekend of any kind for me.  I was working my petsitting jobbie and that meant that I spent most of the weekend not at home, but rather doing house calls and in the car.  It was a crazy busy weekend!!  Something like 40 visits I did from Thursday night to Sunday night.  And I took the day off Monday to spend it with Jeff but also knowing that I'd be tanked from the weekend.  So I did just that.  Did nothing on Monday.  Jeff was off because his normal Friday off was the Stat holiday so they gave him the Monday.  We went over to my mom's for Easter Dinner, which was nice, and the boys loved seeing my mom, as usual.  :)

And then Tuesday, he was going in for jury selection.  Turns out after he sat there for about 3 hours, it was for this sexual assault case, some el creepo Jeff said he looked like.  For that trial, they had alrady chosen 7 of 12 so they almost had a full panel, but he was dismissed thank GOD.  Not only does it pay horribly, he also said that due to financial reasons and personal reasons he didn't think he could sit in on the trial. AKA because of me.  I don't blame him.  I don't remember the trial from over 25 years ago either, mind you I was so little but I also think part of my brain is a blur and prevented me from remembering what went on back in those days.  Which is just as well because I have a very visual mind and I still have the ocasional flashback.  Anyways, moving along, he was back home by like 12:30 and that was that.

This week has been good at the gym.  Tuesday I did some cardio and a core class.  Yesterday I did a body combat class.  Today I'm going to do a power yoga class.  And tomorrow will either be a Body Pump class or Combat class again.

Below are just a few of the animals that I looked after last weekend.  Some regulars and some new ones.  I also got to a client's house on Sunday and noticed she was home (most people are either away on vacation, away for the weekend or at work, so I rarely actually meet pet parents) and she said that she knew she was home early but she waited around because she knows I like her Greyhound, Jagger, and she wanted to take me out to a farmer's field close by and take him off leash running.  I shit you not it was like watching a Cheetah run.  Man this dog could run and around and around... To the point that he'll hurt himself if he isn't careful.  You have to keep them moving after they run and run cold water over their muscles just like you would a horse... But the smile on this dogs face was priceless.  It was something beautiful and I'm so glad that she took me out to watch him run.  It was great.

This weekend I have a feeling I'm going to drag Jeff for some hiking or perhaps even downtown to do some walking around and have a nice lunch at Fresh.  :)  Really looking forward to this weekend.  Peace homies!! xoxo

Are these not the cutest stumpy legs you've ever seen in your life?  And she has these massive paws on her.

She totally has the sad face mastered, eh?

Had a pretty good weekend this past one gone.  Started bickering with Jeff a bit on Thursday night.  This resulted in both of us going to sleep early (read 10 pm! Shocker, I know), then wide awake at 2 am til almost 4 (this also ensued BBM conversations with Marah who also was having a craptacular night with Jon-boy), then finally going back to sleep til about 8 and then Jeff rolled out of bed around 9 or 10.  Friday morning I made some breakfast and we headed out to Toronto trying to find a squeaky ball for Baxter (whose squeaker started to fade just the night before, so great timing on the ball's part) and some pee pads.  No dice on the pee pads but I did find out who sold us the ball last year and where I could procure one.  Naturally, none were at the show and we had to grab a couple of said balls on Saturday when everything opened up after Good Friday).  We were going to take the boys on an off-leash walk in Holland Landing with Karin and the gang of dogs but when I was invited to a free 90 min yoga class, followed by another 90 mins of a private aerial class, I jumped all over that.  :)  Needless to say, I had a very, very active week.  And I've also started taking the dogs on these really long walks (okay they're not realllllly that long but I suppose it is with their short little legs on them).  It's usually about a half hour walk at a good pace but what I like about it is that it seems to do the trick - it tires them the f out.  When I got back home, we got up and left to head down to the All About Pet Show.  I went in alone, since we were essentially on a mission.  Met up with Dina briefly there and all in all, pretty unsuccessful trip and more bickering on our part.  Saturday morning was an alright one.  Got up early, ate and had coffee, then we headed out for a good few hours doing all of our shopping, groceries for the month from Costco, the grocery store.  Blitzed through Ikea to get the frame, which is just as well because you can easily get out of hand in there.  Later on that day, Alex came over and ended up staying until Monday night.  Greg came by, as did Jeff B.  All in all, a good night.  Sunday wasn't too eventful.  We all up and went to the dog park with the boys so they could get the run around on.

Did some cleaning this weekend, catching up on tv shows and downloaded shows (although there are a TON more), Jeff sent his PC back in (again!) since they f'd up the function keys last time around.  Made dinners, took the dogs out and about, got lots of snuggles.

Never saw B or his lady friend this weekend.  Getting the impresssion he's not being honest with her, or we're not good enough or he's embarassed.  It's like he's disappeared from our life though, which is so weird since he used to be always over at our place.  I get that he's happy but that doesn't mean you have to up and abandon your friends.  Nevermind, what happened to not being able to wait to introduce her to us?  Ah whatever.

Must walk the kidlets this evening and give them a bath some time this week as well.  Picking up Oliver on Friday night for my mom who gets back late from Cuba.

That's all for now, folks. <3

So I had written out a blog last week sometime, only to have to come back to it numerous times over because I had gotten busy throughout the day.

Not much is new with me.  The August long weekend we didn't do too much... I know we did venture up to Orillia to visit Alex.  We brought along Bruce, Alex and Greg and had a smashing day frolicking in the pool, eating, drinking, playing with his roommate's dog, Shelby, this lovely happy go luck Golden Retriever.  The day after that we went back up to Penetenguishene and dove out by Jeff's old cottage.  Let me just say that with experience and wear, 7mm wetsuits DO get better to put on.  This time I didn't fuck around, I grabbed my suit and went right for the water.  And the gloves..this pair was MUCH better than the previous pair that was an xxs and cutting off the circulation of my hand to my arm.  Saw some crey fish, bass and perch and millions of zebra mussels everywhere.

Then, our short work week last week seemed to be going well but then towards the end just slowed right down.  By Thursday, it had felt like it was the weekend already and by Friday afternoon, man...did it just really drag on.... Oh well.

This past weekend some friends came over, Jeff B, Greg, Bruce...it was all good fun.  Didn't get up to too much really.  Sunday we decided to get up and get moving so we went for a hike in the forest, also to find some geocaches, picked up Greg and headed out for a couple of hours.  Would have liked to have taken the dogs with us but it was too humid and thankfully we didn't, they would have been black as toby's boot because it started into a downpour not long after we got there, which was just as well because it was hot and the rain was rather refreshing.

Working early all week pretty well.  Have to take the first train in in the mornings, but then I get to take the early train home.  My boss is away for the week after today.  Big boss is out until Wednesday and he's not that scary at all.  Interviews are finished on Wednesday so it should be quick days for me this week.  Tonight I'm doing laundry (exciting life people) and then walking the dogs and whatnot.  Tomorrow night I have to make a quick dinner, then I'm off to my TRX class.  Wednesday I have a therapy appointment (double yay!!), Thursday night I have another TRX training session and then Friday, well I can't complain, Friday's are always pretty good.

That's enough writing for now folks, have a good one! xo

I actually can't wait til the weekend.  Saturday morning we're going up to Alex's again for a day at the pool.  Pick up some drinks, food, the good stuff and hang there all day and try to get my lily white ass some colour.  We're taking up our scuba gear and getting tanks for the day so we can fart around in the pool that day too, which reminds me of the weights.  I think they were left in the trunk in a backpack to dry.

I had a fabulous Friday out with Jeff, we went to the All About Pet Show, saw some awesome dogs (Harlequin Danes, Aussie Sheppards, Duck Tolling Dogs, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Goldens), some cats, birds and a few reptiles.  Got a few good deals there and I was smiling the entire time I was there.  After that we went downtown, walking around and basically wasting time until our reservation at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.  Holy mother of god this steak was to die for.  Jeff and I split a porterhouse for 2 and broccoli.  Good thing we didn't order a baked potato or anything because that was just right, otherwise we would have had to roll ourselves down the street lol.

Following that, we went to Starbucks and saw Arlene Dickinson and Jim Treliving on John Street, I guess they had just filmed an episode of the Dragon's Den.  We then waited for Bruce and his mom to come down and then off we went to the Jays game.  By far one of the better games we've seen in a long time.

Saturday I didn't get up to much, good thing I decided to get groceries out of the way because it turns out that nothing was open yesterday!  Way to pay attention Lindsay!

We took Brian out for dinner on Saturday night and it was very nice in deed.  Oliver's been good and I finally heard from Mom by email so she's a bit more at ease knowing that Oliver's okay.

I started picking up sunscreen this morning, for our trip.  SPF 60! lol.  I can't burn the first few days otherwise I'll be a shivering hot mess in the water and that won't be good.

Anyways that's about it for now yo ;)

Day 15 — My celebrity crush

Hmmmmm. Eminem, David Beckham, Brad Pitt. Now there's a weird assortment of men, LOL.

Quick, quick post before I leave work.  Going home and making dinner, having a shower and then coming back to Toronto to see KO at the Sound Academy.  Tomorrow is aerial silks class and then the outdoor show.  I'll have to take the kidlets to the dog park at some point, likely Sunday.

Nothing really to say today so I won't babble. :)  Have a nice weekend

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

Not much of a weekend this past long wknd, Alex came down and I spent most of the weekend chillin with them, cooking or cleaning.  S'all good though.  Went to the dog park on Sunday.  Gave them a bath afterwards and they look so nice and white and smell edible.  :)  Did laundry, groceries, bought some things we needed for repairs. and Wait for it.... Monday afternoon, the ceiling fan was installed by Jeff, as was the shower curtain rod.  I had to swing over to Mom's house to get Brian's drill because it seems that Jeff's drill battery charger has gone MIA.

Looks really good, I must say.  See, that didn't take too long to do.  Well, literally no, in essence, yes.  Oh well, it's done and I couldn't be happier!!!!

I'm so glad it's a short week - I'm tired.  I wanted to get some paw prints tattoo'd on me this wknd but that never happened.  Hopefully soon :)

So I missed a few days of the daily blog crap.  Forget what the hell it's called at the moment.
Day 08 — Something I crave

At the moment, I crave nothing.  Perhaps a sandwich, my lunch maybe?  lol  Just drinking water as we speak.

Day 09 — Pet peeves

People that are completely unaware of their surroundings, people that don't move over for others when they may or may not be walking 5 people wide on a sidewalk, people that are rude.  Some funny stories from GO Transit, commuting the past 5 and a half years.  lol.

Day 10 — A photo of me taken over ten years ago

Hmm That one, I'l,l have to get back to you on that one.

Day 11 — A photo of me taken recently

This one is a self portrait taken while out snowshoeing with Jeff in January 2011.

This one was taken in my aerial silks class by my mom who decided to come and sit in on the class to see what it was all about.

Day 12 — Something I bought recently

A couple of t-shirts from Smart Set, tights, tank and sports bra from Lululemon.  Bought some things at Home Depot over the weekend too.  And Zellers, bought some glasses since our Gluckstein ones have dwindled and broke over the past 3 years.  Too bad, they were nice.

***
So that brings me back to current.  Can I just say that I love having Alex visit, he's one of the nicest people and one of the few of Jeff's friend's that isn't an idiot, but am I glad that I don't have to listen/watch/suffer through that many hours of Call of Duty.  Holy shit people.  :)
