Friday.. Where the hell have you been all my life?!

In the spirit of it being Friday and taking a lead from Krysten at Why Girls Are Weird and her "10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week", I think I'll follow suit and play that game.

Ten Things that Made Me Happy This Week:

1. Going to see Unbroken with my Mom and Jeff Tuesday night;
2. Having sore muscles.  It means I'm doing something right and not plateau-ing all the time.
3. To have a full fridge of food.  Some people aren't blessed to have a full fridge or food on the table.
4. Baxter's 7th Birthday yesterday.
5. I love having 5 months of the year where my two boys, Charlie and Baxter, are the same age (born 7 months apart from each other, yet still sharing the same blood (they both have the same momma and dad).
6. Planning a little overnight getaway to Niagara Falls/Buffalo in March to celebrate the upcoming wedding of a friend.
7. Seeing the schedule for the 2015 Yoga Conference and happy that the lovely and inspiring Seane Corn will be there this year (she was in South American last year for an Off the Mat endeavour but will be back again this year). Yayyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! :)
8. My evening with Jeff last night. *smiles*
9. Knowing that I get to have dinner with my friend Tara tomorrow night after day 1 of 2 of the restricted/unrestricted gun course her hubby and I are taking together (Jeff and Tara are both licensed).
10. TGIF mother*ckers!!

I just got back from the gym and my legs are sooooooore! I was off on Monday and therefore didn't make it to the gym.  Tuesday I wasn't able to get to my usual BP class so I did legs and abs on my own.  Wednesday and Thursday I did BP.  So there goes to the legs.  And today I did a spin class with Leanne, figuring that I'd spin my legs out a bit and loosen them up.  Uhmmm no.  Not at all.  So I'm betting on waddling tomorrow.
--------

Work continues to be busy as shit.  Which, I suppose, is good in theory and sure the days fly by but sometimes I just have so much to do and don't know where to begin.

--------

Baxter's 7th (!!!) birthday was yesterday and so after work, we went to Global and got the boy a stuffed polar bear (which, might I add, lasted all of 5 minutes tops before he decided to bust it open and get the squeaker out.  LOL.  We got him some yummy treats, bully sticks to chew on and puppy ice cream for both him and Charles.  The second we got home, they were on us because of the yummy bag we had in hand and they stared up at the counter until they had their dinner and THEN I gave them their yummies.

Charlie is still limping a little bit.  I feel like a bad pet parent but I just don't feel he's in pain nor do I feel like spending at least $200 alone for an xray that will only show breaks and shadows that indicate arthritis.  I don't believe it's a luxating patella because he puts weight on his leg, and he's not in any pain.  Not once had he cried out or whimpered and he can also bend his leg, something that luxating patella's won't allow.  Plus, with luxating patellas, they're most often detected earlier on, they don't usually just develop just like that.  So for now, I've been trying to keep him quiet, alternating with confining him (which of course he hates) and he's now getting glucosamine twice daily, which can't hurt him and is good for his joints.  The thing that's sad though is that he just doesn't know how to slow down; he still thinks he's a young lad but he's getting up there.  Depressing but that's reality, right?  So we'll see how things progress with him......

Isn't this pretty?  I can't recall the artist but I believe I saw this on The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust's Facebook page and I loved it.
Pretty much.... lol

 Enjoy your weekend folks! xo

 My view at work

True that.

Charlie eye balling Jeff cutting up peppers for me.

New Lululemon outfit.  I swear I should be a brand ambassador for them for crying out loud!!

Comfiest sports bra EVER!

And of course, at work selfies.  Liked my hair yesterday.  I got it cut and highlighted on Wednesday night.

It's Friday, which means the weekend is just mere hours away!!

So my 31st birthday has come and gone just like that.  I ended up going home after my BodyShred class on Monday at 1 pm.  Went home and by the time I rolled in the door it was 3:30 and from there until the time that Jeff got home (not long after 5), I tidied up, had some crap tv on in the background for noise while I snuggled with my boys on the couch.  We hung out for a couple of hours, then later we met up with my step-dad and mom for dinner.  They then came over after dinner to have dessert and to get the dogs who had a grooming appointment early Tuesday morning.

Now it's Friday and here I am sitting at my desk at work just willing the hours to go by so that my weekend can begin.  Jeff is taking the dogs over to my mom's this afternoon so they can spend the weekend with her while we head up north with Tara and Erik.  They're coming up for a mini getaway weekend and we're going to take them to the gun range to play.  Should be a good/fun weekend but dang it, it's going to be a chilly one.  It's supposed to be a low of -7 Celsius.  Yep, I'm in deep denial over here about the impending winter season coming.  It's fucked up because not three days ago it felt like spring and it was about 14 degrees and then the next day winter.  BAM!  So I finally caved yesterday and pulled out the winter jacket.  Yep, winter is here.  Sigh.

Friday, October 24, 2014

Well, well, well, it's that time again. Friday has creeped up on us...

I love this.  This is totally me.

I am taking a half day at work today.  I (or I should say, we) ended busted my ass to go pick up these clocks for a retirement thingymabob and it ended up being over an hour away and so because I went above and beyond and did what no one else wanted to do, I was given a half day in lieu for my efforts and appreciation.  Totally nice of her, wasn't expected that's for sure.

So I'm off to do a 30 minute Jillian Michaels BodyShred and then take the bus home and meet up with my man to spend the rest of the day with him and the boys.  I'll be going out shopping with my mom later tonight, as she wants to get me some winter boots as an early birthday gift, and maybe an outfit or something.

Tomorrow, I'm off to Collingwood and more notably, Scandinave Spa for a massage and to also enjoy their salt waters.  I'm headed up there with three girlfriends and we'll see what the night brings us.  Hopefully no bullshit, or drama, but then again, girls bring the drama most times, don't they?

So have a great weekend all!! xox

TGIF!

What a bloody week it has been!  TGIF indeed. The rest of this year is going to be insane. We've got huge hearings going out on (long term), one being Conrad Black. Yes, the Conrad Black.

I'm currently on the train home, writing this, as well as doing my midyear performance review for a meeting with my boss on Monday at 11 am. Not sure how I'll get it done in time but hey, whatever. It's the weekend and I don't give a shit because I'm off the clock now.

Over the holidays, I read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. What a good book that was, I was literally reading it any chance I had, sometimes even in the rental on our way out to dinners, even if it was just a few pages. I'm eager to see the movie, which is out today. My mom, Jeff and I are going to see it next Tuesday night. Should be interesting because I'd heard she rewrote the ending for David Fincher who produced the movie. The ending is pretty epic in the book so I look forward to how they changed it. Books that are translated into movies often pale in comparison with to what's written, most often you just can't capture that level of detail in 1.5 to 2 hours. But, having said that, I've heard Gone Girl is 2.5 hours so that's promising. Please Ben Affleck, don't let me down with your character.

I also downloaded her first book, Dark Places, and it's just as good as Gone Girl.

Anyways, that's enough babbling for now.

Have a fabulous weekend all ;) xo

Song of the Moment: Foster the People - Best Friend

Best compliment of the day: I have a nice butt!

It's Friday peeps and for that, we celebrate.  Looks like it's going to be a beautiful weekend.  I am working but that's okay because I'll be outside walking dogs mostly.  I actually have ZERO visits tonight, it's a bit unusual because since I started working for the company over two years ago, there's always been Friday night visits.  This is fabulous, considering I got up this morning at 4:50 am because I had to ensure I was in work early but factoring in also train delays and all that fun shit.

I just had a great workout... Did BodyShred and then CX Works afterwards.  Totally spent and drained now, but in a good way :)

I was looking after Kina a few days this past week, she happens to be one of my faves that we pet sit for.  She's a Husky that's a rescue.  She was left tied to a tree in Quebec outside the rescue shelter and abandoned for the employees to find the next morning.  She's just a gentle soul, she's one of a few dogs I've met before that I feel they can literally look into your soul..

And then... don't mind the old and outdated flower wallpaper, it's the bridal boutique where all the bridemaids got their dresses.  Don't I look super duper impressed?  LOL.  I love the dress and the colour especially.  :)  It's 22 days until her wedding.

And speaking of countdown, it's 54 days until we go to Barbados! WOOOOO!

Have a great weekend everyone ;)

It's Friday kids!  This weekend is Bachelorette Weekend with Tara, the unsuspecting bride.  She knows that something is going on tomorrow but isn't sure what exactly yet.  Plus, we're all throwing her bogus stories and details where none of them make sense if you add them all up and put them together.

Current songs in my head for the last week:
  • "Best Friend" by Foster the People
  • "Sleeping with a friend" by Neon Trees.
  • "Stay with Me" by Sam Smith
  • "Saturday" by Basshunter
I get stuck on certain songs for a awhile, which is why I have a BodyPump song stuck in my head from my class at the gym. LOL Such a loser!

Jeff and I went biking last night, it was too nice of a night not to.

I don't have a white girl flat ass anymore. I can thank lots of squats and lunges for that :)

I hope you all have a great weekend. I'll be taking my DSLR this weekend so hopefully will get some good pics to post for Monday.

Ciao!

Friday, June 27, 2014

It's slow at work.  Mainly because a handful are attending a social media conference until lunch today.  The other reason, people were smart and booked today and Monday off for a super long and nice long weekend.  Not I, my friends.  Wasted too many bloody days earlier this year being sick off my ass with those wretched evil pills that my body hated so much.  Which, I should mention, after time and healing, my legs have healed but there are definite scars from that shit.  I can't wait to see what the hospital says when I go for my appointment on August 6th.

So we're going to talk about my pet peeves, or things that irritate that fuck out of me.... Hehe

- I can't stand when people walk let's say four wide and every attempt to pass results in being denied. No spatial awareness or care for those around you.

- I don't appreciate when talking to someone if they stand mere inches away from your face. I don't need to smell your wretched breath thank you.

- it's widely known that I rarely get song with or make friends with females. I just can't stand the bullshit/drama/cattiness shit. Girls can be so awful, I find men on general dad more easygoing and to get along with.

- if you're going to use my supplies at work, fine but no need to steal my stappler. Go up to the fucking supplies room and get your own you lazy twat.

- When you hold a door for someone, a simple thanks goes a long way.

- know-it-alls. Can't get a word in edge wise so why bother wasting your time?

- people who press the elevator call button a bazillion times thinking it'll come quicker. It won't, so please stop. Lol

- condescending or people that go out of their way to make someone feel excluded of unwelcome... *ahem, this wedding*

- I can't stand it if I come home from pet visits all day and Jeff hasn't moved an inch. Shit everywhere, pop cans... Biggest arch nemesis. Pick up after yourself, it's not hard!!!

I'm going to end it by saying HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO ME!!! (Tomorrow)

To end this on a good note, here are the puppies sunbathing and the second isbjeff walking the boys Nd girls this afternoon :)

and from a few nights when the kids came back from a puppy play date at moms house:

Being deep and shit...

Things I'm realising as I get older:
  • You can be a beautiful person on the outside, but you can be a fucking ugly person on the inside.
  • What's important in life isn't the STUFF you acquire or kissing ass to people when it's convenient for YOU.  It's more than surface level/temporary satisfaction.  Here's a quote that is just what I'm talking about:
“I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life. I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life." I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance. I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back. I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one. I've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back. I've learned that I still have a lot to learn. I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never, ever forget how you made them feel.”
- Maya Angelou
  • As I get older, the less and less I give a fuck about people that bleed you dry and suck the life out of you.  I'm done trying to be there for people and be their friend when THEY need it and then they're fucking gone when I need them.  No siree, I can't be bothered anymore.  Life is too short to invest energy where it's not reciprocated.

On a completely different note, I'm really missing Downtow Abbey, The Walking Dead and Girls.  Other shows that I'm waiting for to come back are Son of Anarchy and Homeland.  Oh yeah and it's FRIDAY!  TGIF

I'm going to be crazy busy this weekend pet sitting/dog walking.  So I'll check in when I can. ;)

Their awesome new leashes to match the collars they have by Wagz Wear.  Their collars have my phone number on them just in case they escape from my clutches (which Charlie did last Fall at a HUGE offleash park and we had thought we lost him for good.. Long story short, he found his way all the way back to our car and waited for us to return, all the while Jeff and I were frantically looking for him - bugger lol) :)

A hodge podge of shit for a Friday/Saturday

So naturally I began writing this yesterday and now Saturday is upon us.  I came home from work last night and packed up some things to go to my mom's for the weekend with the dogs, too, of course.  Jeff wanted me to have my mom close by if I had a bad allergic reaction and needed to get to the hospital.  So we went over around 9:30 last night and from the amount of shit I'm bringing, it looks like I'm staying for a month.  LOL

I was abandoned in bed last night.  Mom and I finally went to bed around 2 and it was so funny, we were all having conversations about the dogs and who was going to settle where.  Everyone left me for Mom and my step-dad.  LOL  Mom brought in Baxter because he was moving too much but he left at some point through the night.  I had a night wake up call this morning though. LOL

I'm just about to head out to the gym with my mom.  Afterwards, I'm going to head up to see my friend and her fiance at his farm.  Should be a good day.  AND I'm taking the DSLR today and not whipping out my iPhone.  Have a great Saturday :)

Heard this girl belt out Les Miserables song and her voice is like that of an angel...

Friday, February 14, 2014

So since I don't feel like dwelling or going into what the last few days have been like (brutal, frustrating, sad, pathetic, hard, stressful), I just don't want to talk about it.

I woke up jaded, quite frankly, after all it is Valentine's Day today.  I've never been huge into the Hallmark holiday, I think it's stupid that flowers are quadruple in prices (at least) and good luck getting a reservation at a restaurant if you haven't book it months ago.  Yeah I'm a planner but not that much of a planner.  Anyways, the hubs and I have been walking on egg shells the last 4-5 days so I woke up this morning and I was like DIE DIE DIE to all those lovey dovey assholes that get all smushy on this stupid day.  Frankly I believe if you can`t love on someone and treat them like gold the rest of the year, why bother on the one designated day, right?  But I came home (Jeff decided to have some space and head up north to visit his parents and go shooting with his dad and brother) and there was a note and 2 dozen flowers! (!!)  The note said:  I love you.  Always have, always will.  Sighhhhhhhhhhhh.  Be still my heart.  This man, no matter what I do, say, what we`ve argued about, whatever, loves me to pieces.  I think sometimes he has a shitty way of showing it, but things like that are really nice and thoughtful.

So here I am, it`s nearly 7 pm and I`ve got my dogs this weekend, I`m going to make some stir fry shortly and tomorrow I`m going out for the day with my mom and step dad, meeting up with a dear friend and seeing 5 Leonbergers.  IE Fun times with the Leos.  Post pics tomorrow :)

TGIF bitches!

Killed it at the gym and now I feel like shit because I'm drained and feeling weak.  But at least I'm not surrendering to this and I'm still plowing forward.  I have lost about 10 lbs in the last week and a half, which is crazy.

Tomorrow morning Jeff and I are going to Toronto to meet with two co-workers at a dog park with their respective dogs.  One has a Polish Sheepdog and the other has a Corgi.  I've met neither of the breeds before so I'm a bit excited and plus, they both seem like little darlings.  The boys are going to be excited and I think Baxter will especially like Minnie, the Polish Sheepdog.  He has a thing for female dogs and I just love watching him flirt it's so flippin cute.  So tonight, I'm going to give them a bath so they look presentable for tomorrow.  Sure they may get muddy but whatever, a bath will do them good tonight.

As for the rest of the weekend, not sure what we're doing but probably not a whole hell of a lot to be honest.

Have a good weekend everyone!!  ;) xo

I leave you with my sleeping beauties....

TGIF

It's been a bumpy couple of days but today is a new day and a better one.  Onwards and upwards, right?

Yesterday evening, Jeff and I went to sign him up for cross fit.  He's committed to completely changing his life and I couldn't be more happy, proud and excited for him.

Plans for this weekend are up in the air.  Tonight we go to a Jays game, Jeff and I, Alex and Bruce.  Tomorrow morning we've still got swimming with the dogs but I think there's a chance of thunderstorms so we definitely won't be going out on the boat.  Oh well.  Another time soon. :)

Just got back from a killer sesh at the gym.  I feel depleted!  Good times!  I feel like I'm trying to fight off a migraine that's on the cusp of revealing itself.  My right eye is spotty and I feel like my head is going to explode.  Ugh.  And on that note, peace out.  Have a great weekend :)

Not a good Friday.....

I had plans on writing something entirely different but I'm in a shitty mood so that's not going to happen.  I don't feel like crying any further about a cause that I'm passionate about.

Sometimes I feel like my marriage is on the verge of collapse.  That's he's just content with me and it's "comfortable" for lack of a better word.

While I'm the first to admit I'm not all sunshine and rainbows 24/7 (hey, I'm keeping it real and honest with myself), I'm tired of looking like I'm the crazy one that everyone is concerned about.  Perhaps people should look around and look inward at themselves instead of constantly looking outward and picking apart everything I do.  Listen, I try my best but fuck, I feel like anytime I make any positive strides, I'm knocked off my chair.  I feel like his Playstation means more to him than I do some days, and the people he talks to on there... Christ, he doesn't even listen or hear me half the time, which makes it extremely frustrating when I'm trying to talk to him and I'm having to repeat myself 3-4 times or waving my hands around like a tool bag so he'll notice that I'm talking to him.

We've been together for nearly 11 years but I feel like he's so much in a place if complatency that he'd rather not look at himself and pick things to improve (bc afterall, don't we all have shit to work on?) but would much rather point at me and pick me apart.  Now, having said all this, he's been by my side for nearly 11 years.  He's supported me on days where I feel like I have nothing and I'd rather nothing more than crawling into a hole and dying.  But man, I'm tired of being made to feel like I'm the only one that could do with some changes.  Everyone looks at him as if he's Jeff the Great, Jeff the Saint, everyone loves him because he can do no wrong.  He is SO mean spirited these days to ME and I feel like I'm constantly walking on egg shells because I can sense a blow up coming.

It's just not fair....

I'm coming down off meds so naturally my moods are all over the place, coupled with my hormone levels are fucked right now and for that I'm going for a damn biopsy in January to figure out if perhaps I may have some hormone issues, abnormal cells and/or endometriosis.

I just want some kindness and understanding, instead of being the recipient of losing your shit simply because you can't find the household cleaner that's at the back of the cupboard.... Seriously, is it worth getting worked up over a bottle of cleaner??  I guess that's priorities for you..........  And I'm stopping the numbing process that I've done for nearly 11 years too.  That's all I'm saying about that.  As much of a hippie as I am, I'm too numbed and I need to grow further and I can't with that thin veil over me.

Today is just a fucking write off, sitting here mad, sad, angry, confused.... AT WORK.  Good times!!!!

*********
So I've had some time to chill out and stop crying.  My head hurts.  I feel spent.  And it's 1 pm.  Lord help me.  I've way too much shit to do today, tomorrow and the rest of the weekend.  This day is going by way too slowly now.......

Tonight:
Go home
Shower
Go pick up keys to house for petsitting
Go to the yoga studio for a group training sesh on this new program the RMTs and therapists are going to be using
Then off to a house visit with a bird and two Yorkies.
Back home
Dinner
If time, go out shopping.  Mall is open til 10 pm.

Tomorrow:
More pet visits but not too many
Will I have time for a yoga class?  Who knows........
More Xmas shopping
More pet visits
get stepdad a card, buy mom flowers.
Go for dinner visit
Take Mom and Step dad out for their Birthday's (10th and 15th)

*******

Enough rambling and negative thoughts.  Writing it out sure does make me feel better, although I do look like a whack job.  Love it or leave it is all I have to say.  You don't like it? Click the X at the top right hand side of your browser.

Here's to a better weekend than my morning has been.  Light, love and happiness.

Namaste~

Ow.

I've been pretty sore since a week Thursday's yoga class with my friend Danielle but progressively it's been hurting more.  I've chalked this up to a psoas muscle strain and holy fuck, I was writing in pain sitting here at my desk in pain awhile ago, so much so that I was moaning and groaning in pain and making these horribly ugly wincing faces.

I think I strained my hips doing Full One-Legged King Pigeon or Eka Pada Rajakapotasana.  I'm tight through the hips but not, if that makes sense.  I think I have loose joints and while I feel that I have tight hips (and most of my stress and strain is carried in my hips, lovely eh?), my hips making "ka"chunk" noises as though it's popping out of joint... It's the strangest of things.  But I embrace it, my joints are all fucked, I hyperextend everything.  So basically when I'm old, I'm going to have retarded joints, probably have to get hips replaced and I'll have no doubt osteoporosis.  Good times.  LOL But that's okay, Jeff and I can race our wheelchairs down the street like badasses.  I'm sure it didn't help that we were horsing around last night either.  *Sigh* OH man.

But it's FRIDAY!! I'm petsitting this weekend but it's quiet.  Tonight we have a friend coming over for dinner, tomorrow I have a few visits then we'll head over to a workmate's of Jeff's for some drinks. And Sunday, well who knows.  I was hoping to catch some yoga classes this weekend but I don't know if that'll be in the books.  I should take it easy and rest but do you know how impossibly hard it is to stay away from the gym?  I mean hello, I went to a spinning class on Wednesday (I know, WTF?!). I get grouchy when I don't go to the gym and I feel lousy.  But I feel lousy now so I guess there's no difference, I should just take it easy.

Heading out to my work's "Festive Gathering" so I'm outtie.

Peace, love & Kindness ~
