Eleven Random Things about Myself

1.  For years and years, I said I didn't want children.  I know that when you have children, it stops being about you but rather about that other little person that you've created and love so much.  As I've gotten older, I realise now that I'd love to have one baby.  Just one would be enough and make me happy.

2.  I have never been diagnosed but I definitely think I have a touch of OCD when it comes to having anxiety about clutter and order and piles of things.  I get stressed out if things are messy and I can't find something that I'm looking for.

3.  I've only ever owned one breed of dogs and Charlie and Baxter are my 5th and 6th of the breed - Bichon Frise.  I'm allergic to cats and dogs so my mom went to hypoallergenic route when my bunny got ill suddenly and passed away.

4.  I hardly know my father's side of the family.  I only ever knew my Dad's parents, Granny and Grandpa.  Dad's sisters estranged themselves from the family when my dad died, after my mom and grandparents had to make a difficult decision to take him off the life support.  We knew there was no chance of him getting better and he didn't want to live like that.  So he told my mom to take care of his little girl and to let him go.  And they did.  My mom lost her best friend, her husband, partner, lover, life companion, her everything all in a matter of months.  I can't imagine how she felt although I do have vague rememberings of her being sad and lonely.  My father has 2 sisters and they've not acknowledged me since I was 3 years old.  Why?  Because they accused my grandparents and mother of "killing" my dad.  I'm not missing out any, though, I don't think.  They're a waste of breath in my opinion.  It killed me to see them at Grandma's funeral saunter over to Dad's grave and pay their respects.

5.  I'm a chronic list maker/to do list maker.  This area has gotten better but I still make lists.  And if we're going away, good luck, I make lists for my lists.

6.  I wish I was rich and could be this magnificent philanthropist that does all this volunteer works, someone that advocates....especially when it comes to animals.  I wish I could save them all.

7.  One day I hope to have a Harlequin Great Dane.  If you don't know what that is, google it.  They're magnificently beautiful dogs.

8.  I want to go to the Westminster Kennel Club Annual Dog Show in New York one year and stay in the two or three hotels where all the dogs stay.  I think my face would hurt from all the smiling.

9.  I don't have very many friends.  Acquaintances, sure, but true friends, not so much.  Most friendships I've always found to not be reciprocal.  It's supposed to be a give and take, not bleeding someone dry.

10.  Next year I'm going to do my yoga teacher training.  And I'm thinking that Bali or India may just be the place to go to.  We'll see.  Including accommodations, flights and the course, plus 30 days off, it adds up to what we pay here in North America.  Crazy!!

Questions from others:

1. Massage or facial? Massage.  I've had one facial in my life and due to my skin sensitivities, I tend to go with anything non-facial related.

2. The one facebook-ism that gets on your nerves:  duckface photos or people trying to elicit questions from elusive status messages.
3. Be honest. What's your biggest insecurity? Being a failure and let down.  Oh and my small boobs.

4. One word to describe your life AT THIS MOMENT.  Each day is better than the last.

5. Did you have any odd habits or preferences as a child? I was a Mommy's girl, I used to bite my nails like something fierce to the point that Mom would put Tabasco sauce on them and I'd still bite them.  I'm hardcore, I guess? LOL

6. On what side of the sink do your dishes pile up?  Left side and right side is the clean side.

7. What's the most embarrassing thing in your fridge right now?  Champagne from our wedding night four years ago. LOL  Other than that, nothing is embarrassing.  Just the usual....

8. What websites and in what order do you visit them every morning?  usually the Ele cams at the Elephant Sanctuary, DSWT, thiscrazytrain.com, tmz.com, x17online.com, people.com, blogger.com.  Those I open first thing when my PC turns on.

9. Did you (or do you) have a myspace page?  I did at one point and it was lame.

10. Would you ever sky dive?  Yes I would.

11. Post the last thing you pinned on Pinterest.  I'm pretty sure it was an image of a beautiful destination on my "Travelling Places" board.  Love Pinterest, highly addictive and not conducive to productivity.  LOL
